I have been wanting to play the piano for many years, but I had been too chicken to try because my best friend Jerome Tulloch plays like Chick Corea. Imagine playing in a band with someone that’s a total wiz on the piano…. yep! 🤨

When I started touring in other bands and eventually moved away, I found myself needing keys on my upcoming recordings, and no Jerome anywhere near by. So the next best thing was to teach myself the piano… and so we head on the crazy journey of exploration on the keyboard. Thanks to video chat technology, Jerome was able to give me a few do’s and don’ts to keep me on the correct path. Playing the bass as my primary instrument has influenced all the other instruments I play and how I approach them, piano is no different. At the end of the day I would rather take it slow and figure out my own sound than be a copy of someone else. Enjoy the videos!
