Originally, the LR Baggs Stadium DI was designed for bass guitar, but I find myself using it for vocals… yep! The great thing about this DI is that it’s active and can be powered either by a 9 volt battery or by 48v phantom power on your mixer board. That means there’s a gain knob to increase or decrease the input volume. There are a bunch of thing you can do with this feature. I for example use it as a mute for vocals by turning the gain to zero and engaging the boot switch… pretty cool! I also use it as a boost by turning the gain knob closer to maximum. Here’s a video with me using it as a vocal DI.
There are other applications for the Stadium DI. For instance, I use it with my acoustic to warm up the sound a bit. Enjoy the video!
