It’s a great time to be a bass player. From an amazing invention from Paul Tutmarc to an incredible innovation from Leo Fender, the bass guitar has continued it’s evolution even to this day with the amazing travel instruments from Chris Stambaugh and Andy Brown from Wing Instruments.
I had the pleasure of touring with the Wing Bass Classic and the Wing Bass NT6 and I am very happy to be a part of a historic experience of the short scale bass. Due to advancements in string technology, Chris was able to build short scale instruments with standard bass guitar strings, without any tuning problems. With such an innovation, bass players can now travel the globe on airplanes with no worries of being told to check their instrument. These intruments feel and sounds great. There’s a bit of a learning curve, like any new instrument this is expected. Watch the video clips below and see for yourself why I am so excited about the Wing Bass. Enjoy!
